In my step-up role I operate as part of the management team at a flagship frozen food depot serving the Northern and Central regions of the UK for Sainsbury’s. Daily duties include, but are not limited to, briefing a team of up to 50 employees regarding the shift ahead, monitoring and maintaining colleague performance levels, adjusting staffing levels due to skill base and customer requirements and maintaining exceptional hygiene and health and safety standards. In my warehouse operative role duties include picking, loading and goods inwards along with IT systems training for new starters.

My first contract was with a brand new marina development which required a full restaurant set up and launch. Other notable projects include working with a live live music venue requiring a food offer to increase their trade within the week, working in partnership with Marstons to refurbish and launch a 200 seater restaurant and pub, implementing a management structure and better business systems in a 5* hotel, spa, restaurant and wedding venue and setting up an outside catering company for a local chef.

I began working at the Pasta di Piazza flagship restaurant based in Stone, Staffordshire in 2001 when the company was in its early stages. I helped the company move forward quite rapidly with tasks including food and beverage menu development, brand development, general kitchen and restaurant operational duties and marketing in my first few years with them. Within five years the company had another three restaurants, one of which I was handed the role of managing the opening from refurbishment to launch and managing the restaurant thereafter. I successfully launched and ran the restaurant until July 2008 when an opportunity to launch a new restaurant within a different area of the market presented itself.
