An insurance professional with 20 years of surety and underwriting experience, Ricardo Brentar serves as Vice President at The Travelers Indemnity Company. In the capacity of Vice President and Regional Underwriting Officer, Mr. Brentar bridges the surety operations between Travelers and J. Malucelli in Brazil and is responsible for the strategic development of the joint-venture expansion throughout the Latin American region. Previously in his career, he held a position with the Arch Insurance Group Inc. as Executive Underwriter, where he oversaw home office contract surety in Mid-Atlantic and Florida locations. Mr. Brentar drew on considerable familiarity within the underwriting profession in his contributions to Arch Insurance Group Inc. Before joining the company, Mr. Brentar served in a similar position with Chubb Group of Insurance Companies, overseeing business operations in Brazil and offering underwriting support to European and Australian branches. Ricardo Brentar additionally worked with General Electric Company and SCOR, holding different underwriting positions with varying levels of authority. In addition to his underwriting experience, he served as Second Vice President with General Electric Company, a financial services and technology provider. Also operating in the capacity of COE Leader, Mr. Brentar held political risk, surety, and credit-related responsibilities. Mr. Brentar also broadened the scope of his career with General Electric Company through a brief term in the position of Financial Risk Manager. Ricardo Brentar received his Bachelor of Business Administration at Eastern Michigan University, majoring in Marketing. In subsequent years, Mr. Brentar pursued graduate studies with The University of Chicago, completing a Master of Business Administration program in Finance and International Business. In addition to his broad experience in underwriting and varied insurance environments, Ricardo Brentar’s professional specialties include corporate structuring, business development, and pricing, along with legal contract and treaty language.
