Me, in a nutshell

I spent 10 years running my own digital shop. With running your own business comes the inevitable wearing of many hats. In the last three years my roles in the company ranged from production to financial and HR management as well as general management and technical direction role. I have a very strong background in programming, needs analysis, technical specification creation, system planning and design, project - and production management as well as client service/management. I have a great track record that I would peg very close to 100% for projects started versus completed.

I have been working in online media since 2001 when Flash was made by Macromedia and responsive web design was a non-existent concept. During my 14 years in this industry I have witnessed many changes in the digital landscape and I have written many, many lines of code. I also learnt how to work with people, learnt how to plan and design systems, learnt intricately the importance of budgets and numbers, wrote some copy occasionally and I managed to get pretty good at them too. I am easy to get along with and I like to think that I am a pretty good communicator (When I am not completely stretched to the limits).

And when I am not working

When I am not working I enjoy club level angling, making furniture from upcycled wood, spending time with my family and friends or playing golf. I especially enjoy fishing for bass and carp. I invented a tool for tying knots to hooks and swivels. I enjoy the outdoors and my family and I are avid campers. I love the North West province and Limpopo. I enjoy traveling and have been to the United Kingdom, Paris, Briefly to Singapore and Taiwan. African travel includes Rwanda, Namibia and the usual suspects that are Cape Town, Durban and a plethora of places in-between. I have a great love for music which I developed at school. I can play the guitar. When I was 17, I represented South Africa at an international marching band festival in Taipei, Taiwan. I also played the side drum in the Mpumalanga Prestige Band.
