The project was to explore the scope of intradermal needle-free injection for mounting a strong and persistent antigen-specific immune response against DNA vaccine. We identified an impairment in humoral (antibody) response in needle- free immunization as compared to the conventional intramuscular immunization. We demonstrated the cause of the problem and provided an effective solution to it.

The objective of the project was to study the genotoxic effect of simulated wastewater (SWW) containing organic pollutants on Allium cepa (onion plants) and to develop its possible bioremediation. I found that the organic pollutants in SWW are highly genotoxic and growth inhibiting to A. cepa. We isolated a bacteria that can effectively and drastically reduce the organic pollutants.

My project was to identify the effects of arsenic exposure on regulation of angiogenesis by VEGF-A, a known inducer of angiogenesis, in zebrafish embryo using confocal microscopy. I found a negative correlation between dose of arsenic exposure and VEGF-A expression around intrasomital vessels in zebrafish embryos.

The project was to observe the effects of Doxorubicin (drug) on cancer cells - in vitro and in vivo. As part of the training I learnt mouse handling and mammalian cell culture.

I worked on the project titled "Studying the Expressions of Selected Genes in Different Stages of Sepsis". In this project I compared gene expression at different stages of sepsis with that during health. It required a strong background in C programming and knowledge of Microsoft Excel along with basic understanding of immunology and molecular biology.
