Homelessness Programs Sponsored by United Way of Greater Los Angeles

Throughout her career in advertising and public relations, Renee Fraser has remained firmly dedicated to community service and charitable giving. For eight years, Renee Fraser held a seat on the board of United Way of Greater Los Angeles (UWGLA), a large charity organization that addresses social issues such as income inequality and homelessness. Here is a quick look at three homelessness programs sponsored by UWGLA.HomeWalk: Held every year in November, the HomeWalk 5K has raised nearly $2 million over the past five years thanks to the efforts of some 30,000 walkers. All proceeds from the event support community initiatives to end homelessness for individuals, families, and veterans. The 100,000 Homes Campaign: A nationwide initiative designed to help 100,000 of the most chronically homeless people in the United States, this program provides valuable funding to community organizations and advocates for meaningful policy change. Home For Good: Together with the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, UWGLA is currently working to end chronic and veteran homelessness by 2016. To learn more about the homelessness programs sponsored by United Way of Greater Los Angeles, visit
