As Director of Finance and Operations, serves as an essential member of the School's leadership team supervises and directs all non-academic operations of the School, including all aspects of the School's finances, human resources, risk management, and facilities. Key accomplishments:

  • Guided the Organization through the strategic restructuring of $1M in debt Orchestrated the acquisition investment real estate valued at $238K
  • Restructured the financial planning, analysis, and budgetary control function to help maximize and leverage financial and non-financial assets of the school
  • Coordinated and managed the finances of a $1.8M construction project aimed at improving the schools ability to meet its mission of providing experiential learning opportunities for its students

As Interim CFO under a one-year contract with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, directed a critical change management project to restructure the financial reporting and operations of a major metropolitan public housing authority. Key accomplishments:

  • Rewrote all agency financial policies and procedures to align with new government accounting standards and GAAP
  • Conducted a software selection study and wrote an RFP resulting in a report recommending appropriate financial accounting software
  • Conducted an internal control study which led to the restatement of new workflows, job descriptions, and staffing configurations

  • Slashed interest expenses by 50%, redeeming $1 million in tax-exempt bonds and reducing working capital debt by $1. 9 million to counter diminishing public revenue
  • Coordinated the conversion of $22 million endowment fund from indexed to actively managed
  • Introduced critical cash flow forecasting system and expense re-forecasting process to enhance working capital management
