Rebekah Valentich has balanced motherhood with her professional responsibilities for much of her career. She is currently pursuing a nursing degree from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, and plans to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in December 2012. To better serve her future patients, Rebekah Valentich is studying Spanish. Before enrolling at Wright State, Rebekah Valentich spent more than a decade owning and running a housekeeping and janitorial business. A single mother as well as an entrepreneur, Ms. Valentich operated the enterprise in a fashion that permitted her the time to homeschool her child. Over the years, she built the fledgling firm into one that numbered 15 employees. The company catered to residential and commercial customers, with expertise in industrial cleaning machinery such as steam cleaners and floor-buffing equipment. Once her son left for college, she sold the business to begin studying nursing. In prior years, Rebekah Valentich served as the Store Manager of a retail photography studio, as well as working as one of the photographers. While there, she recruited photographers and sales clerks. In addition, she photographed children and families, creating a portfolio of different poses. During her tenure, she won a number of awards recognizing her customer service and photography skills. In her spare moments, Rebekah Valentich enjoys spending time with her son, now in his final year of college. An animal lover, she shares her home with five dogs of varying sizes who delight in taking her out for walks, runs, and hikes. She also regularly brings home stray cats, ensures that they are spayed or neutered by the veterinarian, and then finds them new owners.
