Provide evaluation and treatment of speech, language, swallowing, feeding mismanagement, and oral aversion, per physician orders, in a clinical setting for a culturally and medically diverse population of all ages.  Also, additional tasks include supervising assistants and coordinating care and appropriate referrals to other agencies and professionals as needed.



Jefferson County Schools - Dandridge, TN

Assessed and treated speech and language impairments that negatively affect the education of a culturally diverse population of students using a variety of treatment modalities. Also, maintained Individualized Education Plans, created and implemented data-driven Response to Intervention program, and coordinated plans with appropriate staff. In addition, created treatment plans and provided supervision of therapy assistant and clinical fellows, as well as participating in Professional Learning Community meetings and school-based and county-wide committees.



Speech Pathology Services of East Tennessee- Maryville, TN

Provided medically necessary therapy services to students in public schools and Head Start programs in Knox, Blount, and Sevier Counties through the TN Project Teach program. As well as evaluation and treatment, per physician orders, in a clinic setting for children of all ages, created treatment plans, trained and supervised speech pathology assistants, communicated with parents, school officials, school-based SLPs, and physicians regarding treatments.

  • Presented at the 2013 National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Conference in Washington DC –“Boost Communication: An SLP shares Brain-Based Techniques to Enhance Communication Skills”.
  • Presented at the 2014 AAEYC Head to Toe Infant Toddler Institute in Blountville TN –“Boost Communication: Tips from a Speech-Language Pathologist”.
  • Recognized as an "Irreplaceable Teacher" by the TN State Department of Education. 
  • Presented at the 2009 Tennessee Board of Education Special Education Conference in Nashville TN- “RTI: Response to Intervention or Road to Insanity?” regarding implementation of a data-driven general education-based intervention for speech and language delays.
  • Developed and wrote the manual for the “Response to Intervention: Guidelines for SLPs” in Jefferson County Schools in 2008-2009.
  • Member of the ASHA Special Interest Group "Neurophysiology and Neurogenic Disorders" Division.
