Raymond Land possesses an impressive track record of success as a mounted law enforcement officer with the Ocean City Police Mounted Unit, where he served as supervisor. Land performed more than 500 arrests as an officer and supervised more than 2,000 others. His many successes include arresting a man involved in an attempted abduction of a three-year-old boy and returning the boy safely to his family. Another high-profile case involved the arrest of an inebriated man who was harassing Boardwalk visitors and engaging in lewd behavior. These arrests exemplify Raymond Land’s dedication to service excellence on behalf of the Ocean Police Department. Today, Land serves as the Security Supervisor at Ocean Downs Casino, where he oversees a group of 10 security guards and secures the building during overnight shifts.  Before beginning his tenure with the Ocean City Police, Raymond Land graduated from Gettysburg High School in Pennsylvania. He then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from Western Maryland College and complete additional training at the Maryland Police Training Academy at Salisbury University. Land also graduated first in his class from the Eastern Shore Criminal Justice Academy, where he participated in the First Line Supervisors Training School.  Raymond Land previously served as a member of the community service division for the local police department. Additionally, he maintains membership with the Police Athletic League, the Fraternal Order of Police, and the Gamma Beta Chi fraternity. During his spare time, Land enjoys reading the works of such authors as Charles Dickens and Noah Trudeau.
