Special Investigations Unit (SIU)

Senior Investigator,SIU, White Plains, NY. Responsible for the oversight and supervision of cases conducted by Investigators assigned to SIU White Plains. These cases included Traditional and Non-Traditional Organized Criminal Groups operating in and around the Lower Hudson Valley and the New York City Metro area including Long Island. Typically these cases are multi-jurisdictional and multi-defendant investigations occurring over a prolonged period of time. Resources used included physical surveillance, electronic surveillance and open source data mining. SIU White Plains is staffed with 15 Investigators and 2 Senior Investigators. I supervised the 8 member South Florida Money Laundering Strike Force Unit which targets upper level narcotic distributors and money launderers operating in the NYC metro area. As a Supervisor, I also investigated complaints against Personnel, damage or loss to State property or vehicles and injuries to Members or prisoners. I prepared work schedules, conducted Performance Evaluations and performed administrative duties to ensure the proper functioning of the State Police White Plains station. I was responsible for all evidence collected by the Members at SP White Plains and its proper disposal.

Senior Investigator,FIC, Albany, NY. Assigned to Case Management and Review and was responsible for reviewing all evidence coming into the Lab, determining what type of analysis would be done, coordinating case meetings for large evidence submission cases such as homicides, rapes and serious assaults. Also responsible for supervising five Evidence Technicians, managing the Drug Destruction Unit and the documentation and proper filing of all evidence and associated paperwork. Also assigned to conduct Personnel Complaint investigations, semi-annual Audit of Evidence Vault and maintain liaison with submitting Criminal Justice Agencies.

Sergeant/, Albany, NY Responsible for the Sergeants and Troopers assigned to the Governor's Mansion and the New York State Capitol. The Sergeants and the Troopers assigned to ESU are responsible for the security of the grounds of the Executive Mansion and the First Family with the exception of the Governor. This includes all surveillance equipment, monitoring of cameras, intrusion alarms, motion detectors and access control to the Mansion property and the Governor's Capitol offices.
