Network Management Assistant

Planning & Information Technology (MSU)
  • Implemented the installation and configuration of new hardware and software (mainly servers). Maintained standalone and networked systems hardware and software, also provided assistance to IT related issues campus wide (laboratories and library).
Jun 2007Aug 2007

Research Assistant

Knowledge Integration and Management Center of Excellence (KIMCOE)
  • Integrated the use of smart agent communication to interact with each other (agent mediation), while researching and creating the feasibility of using agent video fusion over ad hoc wireless network. Created technical reports for publication and presented the work to supervisors (Army & NASA). The agent video fusion would be used to solve the issue of providing forward deployed army personnel with video information to decrease their risk in the field and increase their performance.

Research Assistant

Center of Microwave, Satellite, and RF Engineering (COMSARE)
  • Researched the development of a universal modeling environment design to capture specifications and automatically generate or configure the target applications in particular engineering fields. Redesigned program web site by successfully implementing Dreamweaver to maintain web sites and applications.

Research Assistant

Knowledge Integration and Management Center of Excellence (KIMCOE)
  • Researched Cougaar Agent communication and Optimized Link State Routing Protocol (OLSR). Created the feasibility of Cougaar Agent communication over ad-hoc wireless network, while composing presentations and technical reports to  supervisors (Army & NASA)

Evan Richardson

"As the School of Architecture and Planning went through its search to hire a new Manager of Information Systems in 2010, Raul stood out among the other candidates. His knowledge, his background, and his passion for computer technology and its systems proved to be the right fit for our school. We are glad we made the decision to bring him on board. As the Manager of Information Systems, Raul's role is to oversee the technology operation for our entire school. On a daily basis, he has to interact with students, faculty, and the staff to make sure all of computer systems are up-to-date and working effectively. Without his support,I know for sure our school's productivity would stifle. In his role, Raul would always find cost effective ways to make our programs work efficiently. On numerous occasions, in order to complete his tasks, he has stayed late and worked on the weekends. I know, personally, I've given him assignments and it was done expeditiously, with no hesitation. All in all, Raul is an important key to our success here in the School of Architecture and Planning and it would be a challenge to replace him."September 22, 2011
