For the majority of the past decade I have overseen the production and publication of original written content, as well as interactive media for RHUM media. My role focus has been quality and consistency across media types and web platforms, with special attention given to driving increased traffic and brand visibility.

I created, wrote and edited copy, editorial and educational resource material in Australia and the UK. My senior experience in corporate, educational  and popular culture writing and editing spans over 10 years.

As the co-founder and managing editor for an online arts publication spanning 8 years; I fostered, trained and managed a media team of managers, writers, editors & interns internationally.

I specialise in corporate, education, NFP and popular culture communications. Essentially, 'Digital Content Editor' is the latest buzz word for a writer and editor with content management system skills and experience. That's me. I ran one of Australia's first online magazines for over 8 years. It taught me a lot. And that's one of my skills - learning on the go. The online space changes rapidly, online skills learned at university become quasi redundant and most of the requirements companies have this month haven't even made the university unit approval list yet.

RHUM events & media

RHUM was a leading online arts and culture publication based in Australia and the UK until December 2013. RHUM mag was published under the RHUM events and media brand - a DGF recipient and cultural organisation.

RHUM mag ran under my leadership for 8 years and set the standard for quality online arts journalism and writing. All online content submissions went through a full production line of editing before publication. Writers were given professional support to further develop their craft. The organisation became known internationally for publishing 24 hour media review programs at the word's leading arts festivals across the globe including: Cannes Film Festival, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Berlinale, Splendour In The Grass and The London BFI Film Festival.

Achievements and responsibilities over 8 years in my role as Group Managing Editor:

  • Aggressively increased RHUM mag audience and awareness of the publication through online and offline marketing campaigns;
  • Engaged and connected RHUM mag's audiences with original, regular, fresh copy and editorial;
  • Sourced article ideas and interviews, including coordinating photography, radio and film;
  • Produced new content daily and an e-newsletter monthly, as well as making recommendations for promotion of the webmag via internal and partner networks, including festival, web and social media channels;
  • Developed a credible, reliable and relevant editorial voice across all platforms, including website, print and social media channels;
  • Monitored and integrated online editorial - sourcing, writing, commissioning; Fostered and managed a media team of managers, contributors & interns;

  • Wrote, edited, and developed educational resource materials such as style guides, review guides, and training manuals and
  • Ensured all writer submissions were finalised in a timely manner, thoroughly edited and writers were given professional support to further develop their craft. This included mentoring on narrative flow and logical organisation of material; consistency of headings, subheadings and referencing style; authenticity of editorial voice; clarity and relevance to target demographic.

Didasko learning resources is a leading developer and supplier of premier Learning Resources for the vocational education and training industry. Specialising in the Hospitality and Retail sectors, Didasko's comprehensive resources and systems for training providers, trainers and learners deliver superior learning outcomes and improved operational and marketing effectiveness.

My primary role was the assist in the company's creative team in the development of high quality online learning materials to support diplomas in Hospitality & Retail. My primary tasks included copywriting, re-writing technical material, editing, and publishing, and working closely with the instructional and graphic designers.

In New Zealand, Stamford owns and operates the landmark Stamford Plaza Auckland. Renowned for their outstanding service quality, Stamford's hotels and restaurants have consistently won prestigious awards and accolades since the Stamford brand was launched in 1995.

My primary role as national Business Development Manager was to increase and support sales and awareness of the Stamford Brand within the corporate travel Industry across Australia.
