The mission of the National Gallery of Art is to serve the United States of America in a national role by preserving, collecting, exhibiting, and fostering the understanding of works of art, at the highest possible museum and scholarly standards.
The incumbent assists with exhibition-related events such as receptions, luncheons, previews, and dinners. This includes:• Coordinating overall documentation of events for XSE records and for Gallery Archives• Establishing and maintaining records on Raiser's Edge of invitations and attendance• Proofing and assisting with mailings of invitations• Tracking invitation responses• Generates reports of those responses for the Director, Deputy Director, Executive Officer of Development and External Affairs, and related offices. Coordinates the staff assignments for exhibition-related events including:• Recruiting National Gallery (NGA) staff to help with events• Drafting, reviewing, and distributing assignments• Coaching staff on assignments and acting as contact point during events. With guidance and approval from the Chief of Protocol and Special Events, selects photographer and coordinates arrangements for photographic services for all exhibition-related events. Fields requests and works closely with outside groups on small group visits, including embassy groups, college and university alumni groups, museums, clubs, and non-profit organizations. Coordinates and works at exhibition-related events at the National Gallery of Art.
1. Skill in the organization and coordination of photographic services from the early planning stages of photographer selection to creating image files and photographic portfolios. 2. Skill in communicating diplomatically and effectively with a wide variety of people for the coordination of small group tours. 3. Skill in using an event management program for establishing and maintaining records for the archival preservation of social events. 4. Ability to work on numerous projects simultaneously demonstrating attention to detail and effective organizational skill.

We are currently seeking an events manager to manage and drive all aspects of client and industry events for Twitter’s Sales Marketing organization. The events manager will report to the Sales Marketing Lead. The ideal candidate thrives in an organizational environment that is fast-paced, innovative, collaborative and low-ego, and can operate effectively at all levels – from strategy and execution to big picture ideas --with attention to the details. Candidates should have a strong and successful track record of producing advertiser and industry events from conception through to post-event KPI analysis. Responsibilities
Manage and execute highly effective events for advertiser and industry audiences.
Partner with the Sales and Sales Marketing teams to develop events strategy.
Manage all aspects of events including content development, vendor management, operations, budget, logistics, creative/design elements, invitations/RSVP management, promotions of events and program development.
Create event briefs, attendee parameters, project scope, and schedules.
Manage budget and logistics to the smallest detail ensuring all are properly scoped.
Negotiate ‘best of’ rates with all vendors and event partners.
Travel for onsite event production – including some pre-event scoping.
Create goals for each event and conduct post-event analysis including reach and ROI.
Collaborate closely with the other internal groups, including Corporate/Consumer Marketing, Communications, Product and Sales, to ensure consistent and integrated event messaging.
6-8 years experience with demonstrated skills and knowledge in the following areas:
Strong event planning and management skills and adept at managing multiple events consecutively.
Depth of knowledge of the online media space and a passion for social media. Ability to develop events on par with the best industry gatherings.
Ability to multi-task and manage several complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational, planning and project management skills.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Strong iWork and Microsoft Office skills.
