With more than 15 years experience in the wireless communications industry, Rand Bailin is an accomplished senior executive who brings strategy, vision and global corporate management and development skills. Presently Rand is the Vice President of Mobile Operations for Best Buy, leading the company's transition into the connected digital solutions market.
Rand's experience in developing and launching new mobile ventures is evidenced in his past roles as the COO of Senior Vitals, an MVNO for seniors and their caregivers and his role at Nextel where he led the development and launch of Boost Mobile.
Previously, Rand was the VP of Strategic and Product Marketing for TerreStar Networks, where he had the responsibility for market entry, pricing and product marketing in addition to helping develop TerreStar's Strategic Alliance program. Rand's experience in helping scale wireless business operations is no more clearly demonstrated than over his decade long tenure at Nextel Communications where as the VP of Global Corporate Strategy and Development he had the responsibility for leading Nextel's entry into various domestic market segments including public sector, MVNO (consumer youth lifestyle), and national retail.
Internationally, Rand has led market expansion and development activities across Europe, Asia and the Middle East with a special emphasis on China. Prior to Nextel, Rand spent 6 years at MCI working in both business and consumer markets organizations with his last role being responsible for the business integration and launch of MCI's wireless paging and messaging platform, one of the first US wireless MVNO.
Rand received his BA in Economics and Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and his Masters degree from the Kogod School of Business of Business at the American University.
