Ramesh Goenka

At age 20, Ramesh Goenka founded the India-based trading company that later evolved into Suashish Diamonds, Ltd., one of India’s top diamond manufacturers. He incorporated the company in 1988 and subsequently expanded the firm to locations in Hong Kong, Japan, Belgium, and the United States. In recognition for its exporting performance, Ramesh Goenka’s company has received the Certificate of Merit from India’s Maharashtra state government.

Much of Goenka’s recent success stems from his focus on innovation. In the last decade, he has utilized the latest technology to create two new proprietary diamond cuts and increase factory production to exceed 1 million jewelry pieces per year. These statistics have placed Suashish Diamonds among India’s top five exporters to Western markets.

Building upon the achievements of Suashish Diamonds, Ramesh Goenka created Ishi’s, a retail brand of diamond jewelry sold in more than 100 locations throughout India and the Middle East. The 2003 addition of Ishi’s cemented Goenka’s presence across the entire diamond industry.
