Affiliated with Cape Counseling Services, which strives to promote and provide exceptional, comprehensive, state-of-the-art behavioral health care focused on wellness and recovery, Rainbow of Hope Psychiatric Community Home in Woodbine, NJ, houses co-ed children ages 11 to 17. The nine-bed facility provides a safe environment and intensive therapy and support for youngsters afflicted with behavioral and emotional health issues. Typically, the children have faced physical and/or emotional abuse and neglect, causing anger, self-destructive behavior, substance abuse, suicide attempts, or other harmful actions. Rainbow of Hope acts as a step-down placement following psychiatric hospitalization.The NJ facility enjoys compatibility with other organizations that help children, including youth case management programs, care management organizations, family support groups, and the state’s Division of Child Protection and Permanency. Licensed by the State of NJ Department of Children and Families, Rainbow of Hope maintains accreditation with the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. The residential home has earned recognition from the Mental Health Corporation of America, garnering the Best Practices Award for the Highest Level of Client Satisfaction for Residential Service Delivery.In addition to therapy, Rainbow of Hope endeavors to instill a sense of community service in its charges. The youthful residents have joined in the annual Sea Isle City Beach Sweep and walked to raise money for The ALS Association. Rainbow of Hope youth also raked leaves and cleaned the area surrounding the Woodbine Community Center for an Easter egg hunt and created artwork sold at a silent auction to raise funds for charity. In addition, the NJ residential-home group raised money to support Beacon Animal Rescue, AIDS research, a local food bank, and other charitable causes.
