Volunteer Work

Recipe Rainbow Intern

Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank

Fall 2014

I updated the interface for Recipe Rainbow to make it more user-friendly and nutrition conscious. To do this, I used ESHA Food Processor to create nutrition facts labels for the recipes that were published and then ranked those recipes using Excel according to the guidelines set forth by the Choosing Healthy Options Program (CHOP). My work also included marketing healthy eating through photographic and verbal depictions of the recipes, streamlining the list of ingredients that consumers have available for searches and classifying recipes into different meal categories. I  also helped to make blog posts based on recipe cards already created. My ultimate mission there was to assist the food bank staffs purpose of helping to make healthy eating easier and more appealing for the families who are served.

Necessary skills for this position include being familiar with Excel, Photoshop, WordPress, ESHA Food Processor and the Choosing Healthy Options Program (CHOP).
