About Rabbi Gail Nord

A spiritual leader with a unique story, Rabbi Gail Nord began her career as a pastor at Incarnation Lutheran Church in Shoreview, Minnesota. There, she created a transitional housing and support services program for homeless teen mothers while expanding the reach of the church's middle school education initiative and other service programs. Rabbi Gail Nord then continued her spiritual journey and converted to Judaism, a process that has included her rabbinic ordination by Rabbi Joseph Gelberman, a highly regarded Kabbalist.

Dedicated to helping others explore their spiritual development as well, Rabbi Gail Nord has served as an independent spiritual counselor since 2002. A board-certified professional chaplain, she has provided counseling and support to patients in a variety of care centers, including Park-Nicollet Methodist Hospital, Regions Hospital, Family Centered Hospice, and Heartland Hospice. She has also served the State of Minnesota Department of Corrections as a spiritual resource coordinator, in which role she created a small-group Peacemaking Program for healthy and meaning-filled living. An experienced teacher of spirituality and Kabbalah courses, she has also shared her expertise as an adjunct faculty member at Oakton Community College.
