Brittany Eddy 

I initially started my time at True Relationships and Reproductive Health as an intern to gain experience in the field of Public Health. After 7 days of interning, I was offered a job as a Project Support Officer. My work was highly praised among my supervisors and I was the only person within my cohort to receive a job offer. 

My task was to plan, run and evaluate the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Sexual Health Forum, a symposium designed to highlight the disparities in the Sexual Health field and implement a national Action Plan for implementation across all sectors. My responsibilities included project management (schedule planning, evaluation planning, risk management etc.), event management (organising flights, accommodation, catering, running the actual event) and evaluations (milestone evaluation, evaluation of previous symposiums, creation of evaluation tools and creation and dissemination of project success report). 

My responsibilities included a vast array of skills relevant to working in pharmacy. My main tasks included counselling patients, offering advice regarding medicines, dispensing medicines and assisting with prescriptions. I also spent time doing vitamin consultancy, ordering, using registers/cash handling, marking off invoices and general stock work. 

In 2012, I launched my own website and events management company that focussed on enhancing the local music industry. Society of Sound is a multi-faceted organisation that  features reviews of local, national and international music, interviews with up and coming musicians as well as already established musicians, promotes new music releases, uses social media to highlight and promote local music news and runs it's own events. 

As founder of Society of Sound, I was responsible for the management of a team of approximately 30-40 people at any given time. I have experience with website development, public relations, events management, journalism and human resources. The management of Society of Sound required skills in entrepreneurship, time management and attention to detail.

Although my passion for music could never be diminished, I came to the realisation that my passion for Public Health was much stronger. Consequentially, I handed over the management of Society of Sound to a close friend and despite still playing a mentoring role behind the scenes of Society of Sound, my attention is now focussed on the field of Public Health instead.  

During my 2 and a half years at Priceline Pharmacy, I gained experience in a few different areas of retail environments. I was promoted to supervisor and trained to dispense medications. I was a vitamin consultant, a beauty consultant, assisted with stock work and merchandising, and assisted with supervising other staff.

A specialised degree equipping me with skills in research, promotion, evaluation, analysis and education. 

This certificate qualified me to be a certified Pharmacy Assistant.
