Owner/ Founder

Cardboard Creations

This is a small business that I recently started as a school project that grew into something more than expected. I now have one big client, Carmike Cinemas.  The idea behind the company is creating props and other decorative/ artistic pieces from old used materials and trash i.e. cardboard.  I take what others throw out and create huge props for the movie theatre to help them showcase upcoming movie releases.  I also create costumes for halloween and other events and have also been contracted by United Way and The Miss NC Pageants as well. I use online marketing and social media to help grow my business and it has been a huge success.  This has been a fun learning experience in running a small business and will only further help me in my career advancement.

SALES REP

AKZO NOBEL PAINTS LLC

During my time at Akzo Nobel, formerly ICI Paints, I quickly made myself a valuable asset to the company within my district by becoming the highest new account opener in the district with more new accounts opened then all stores combined. I handled and was in charge of many of the businesses largest accounts all of which were over $100,000.  I increased sales within that year by more than $500,000 and was able, through great customer service and salesmanship, to keep those new accounts active customers in our store.  I had a hand in all daily activities, from purchase orders to cold calls as well as the everyday duties I was originally hired to do.  I spent much of my time gaining leads and helping to close deals. I shined when it came to pleasing customers and making them "partners" in our company.   This gave me extensive inside and outside sales experience.

Account Executive/ Event Planner

PURPLE MAGAZINE

I was the head account executive and event planner for the company during my time there. I was an outside sales rep and I was in charge of gaining new business and advertisement and my role of event planner stemmed from my ability to get things done and my people skills. I planned any events that the magazine would be a part of. One triumphant event that I planned and executed without any help was a Purple Magazine launch party.  The event was a charity fashion show featuring and hosted by America's Next Top Model.  I was able to get 6 stores involved to show their clothing, food donated for the reception, photographers and videographers, a dj and more at ZERO cost.  It was a shining moment in my career that I am extremely proud of and it helped build my confidence in everything that I set forth to accomplish.
