Sales Associate

Dick's Sporting Goods

In the summer of 2010, I was hired as the Customer Engagement Specialist (CES). After a few months, I chose to go back to doing the apparel sales like I had previously done. I have a good understanding of the freight processing, setting the ad, customer service, the store's cash registers, and keeping the store looking clean.

Jun 2010 - Aug 2011

For the last two summers, I have been a nanny to a family with three children in the Scott Depot area. I do everything in my power to keep them smiling, and having a great time. We enjoy taking trips to the pool, playing games, and watching movies. However, they seem to thoroughly enjoy educational days, spending time at the Clay Center for the Arts and Sciences of West Virginia, going through the museum at the Cultural Center, learning about recycling and the Earth, as well being creative with painting, pottery, and drawing. My responsibilities include things such as getting them back and forth to activities and camps, keeping them fed (which isn't hard, because they love learning to cook), and keeping them busy and smiling.

Nov 2007 - May 2010

Brand Representative

Target Corp.

I worked as a regular team member for several months before being promoted to the Softlines Brand Representative. At this time I became well versed in the computer & PDT systems, spent time as a  team trainer,  learned all about customer service. Once being moved up, I began working on perfecting the way clothing was merchandised, setting planograms & adjacencies, and keeping the store looking crisp.

HS Diploma

Lincoln County High School

In high school, I  took part in the Photography Club, Friends of the Performing Arts (FoPA) and filmed games for the boy's basketball team.

West Virginia State University

While attending West Virginia State University, I have participated in the PRSSA or the Public Relations Student Society of America.

During my time so far, I assisted in the development of new and innovative designs for media alerts. In 2011, WVSU celebrated it's 120th Anniversary. It was our goal to get the media's attention, so we did so by sending local media outlets boxes filled with cupcakes, streamers and an invitation to celebrate another year with us.

The largest scale project I have worked on was the  Black and Gold Gala Awards, and the Album Release Party for Charleston, WV native, Nicci Canada's first album, Twenty Twelve. My responsibilities ranged in everything from writing media & press releases, tending to the social media aspects of the event,  to decorating and working the event.
