  • Serving as a Business Analyst between NLHV leaders and the IT team. Facilitating with many of the planned updates, and installations such as SharePoint 2010, while ensuring HIPAA and other compliance guidelines.
  • Integrate while upgrading their business processes, and IT systems to an Enterprise level architecture, which includes upgrading, as well as installing new desktop and server systems, including: Active Directory 2008 R2, SharePoint 2010, to enhance internal communication, collaboration, to prepare for their expected growth, as well as upcoming healthcare changes.
  • Creating the process while developing a standard for Windows 7, and Windows Server 2008 R2 to deploy to all new machines, and Servers utilizing Microsoft System Center Configurations Manager. NLHV is upgrading all current machines from Windows XP to Windows 7, while migrating the user’s data and key settings. At NLHV there was no desktop standard for hardware or software.
  • Setting up and developing a change management process, deploying all patches to NLHV machines and software, (Servers, Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 with Office 2007 and 2010).
  • Designed and implemented Microsoft’s System Center – Operations Manager (W2K8 64bit, SQL 2008 64bit), and Configuration Manager, (W2K3 R2 32bit, SQL 2005), to monitor, maintain, standardize, secure, and deploy software.  (Upgrading to W2K8 R2 and SQL 2008).

  • Fostered key IT and business executive relations, delivering dynamic presentations, and regular status updates (such as how SharePoint integrates with applications at the IMF).  One of these meetings lead to requesting Microsoft to create what is now SharePoint Workspaces to assist IMF mission teams in the field collaborate on country data.
  • South Korea had a severe liquidity crisis in late 1997, forcing the country to appeal for a record $58 billion, IMF-led bailout package. In November 1997, the IMF and the World Bank were investigating the need to give this major loan to South Korea to stabilize their country. The IMF and World Bank staff had no way to get information on Korea’s economic situation back to the headquarters other than having hotel staff fax the classified documents to DC. There was an urgent need for confidentiality. A fellow coworker and I were brought in to determine the best solution to this problem. The solution involved scanning these documents into a PDF format, encrypting this data using PGP. Next, emailing these encrypted PDF’s to IMF management. This procedure was implemented, which facilitated the process, and kept this classified information secure, until negotiations were completed.
  • The IMF has staff from over 70 Nations, with 185 Nations as members. Therefore, there is a need for communicating in numerous languages, other than the official language, English. Because of this need, it is necessary to have all Microsoft Proofing Tools available on all machines at the IMF. In 2005, Microsoft announced at the Office 2007 TAP conference, that Proofing Tools would no longer be made available as a stand-alone package. I persuaded Microsoft to bring back Office Proofing Tools, (as a stand-alone package), into their enterprise product line. 
  • IT leader, serving as key member of teams instituting IMF collaboration strategy, and positioning the IMF as a technology innovator, as part of numerous beta programs.
  • Earned Microsoft Office 2007 TAP (Technical Assistance Program) Award for development contributions; leader of 2010 alpha, and beta testing team.
  • Requested and later tested a feature, which would access and leverage SharePoint's index server to create a single place to search for all Enterprise documents.  This developed into what now is Federated Search utilizing SharePoint’s indexer as part of the Windows 7 search.
  • Streamlined IMF processes for increased communication with World Bank, Organization for Economic Co-operation, Development (OECD), and central banks.
  • Participated in beta integration testing for Microsoft Office 2000, XP, 2003, Desktop Search, Vista, and Windows 7.

  • Was brought into MMI Companies to manage, migrate, upgrade, and integrate McManis Associates, a Health Care consulting firm, (with five offices across the US) into MMI business and IT standards. To accomplish this, installed a Novell 3.12 Server, and connected the server via Token Ring to all users’ machines.
  • Upgraded, and converted the DOS applications to MMl's Windows 3.11 corporate standard.
  • In addition, upgraded the following: Quattro Pro to Excel, Word Perfect to Microsoft Word and Harvard Graphics to PowerPoint.
  • In order to save on travel costs to MMI, and other clients in many cities; negotiated, implemented, and trained staff on using the VTEL video conferencing system.

  • Brought technology into the company. At the start (1988), S&FA had 20 users and 5 computers for the entire company. Set up and managed the expansion of 150 users utilizing DOS PC's running WordStar connected to three Novell 3.11 networks.
  • Negotiated, acquired, and managed a Rolm 9751 PBX for S&FA for a newly started, reimbursement hotline, which included: Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) for 35 custom 800 numbers for numerous clients. These 800 numbers were used for reimbursement questions for several different medicines, and medical devices from major pharmaceutical companies. This reduced the need for additional client staff, and equipment while preserving the client’s unique service.
  • Interpreted, analyzed database, in addition to phone data to prepare figures and charts for use in monthly client reports, and then billing for services.
