Dr. Priscilla Berry worked as a free-lance writer and columnist for the Jacksonville Business Journal providing Career and Management Advice for her followers and  has a private communications consulting practice: Berry & Associates, which provides businesses with specialized programs to assist with corporate cultural transformation and leadership development, solving internal and public communication challenges, and providing managers with skill development for leadership challenges.

Berry & Associates works with individuals and corporations in Leadership and Management Training and conducts Workshop-Labs in Executive Communications: Style, Presence and Power. These Workshop-Labs provide awareness raising for professional development in presentation and social business skills and negotiating dialogues. 

Dr. Berry is a graduate of the University of Mississippi with degrees in English, Literature, and Humanities.  She began her career in academia as a professor of literature and was recruited by local corporations to work on the development and facilitation of communication systems. Selected Corporate Clients include: Communications Planning Corp, Children’s Haven, Americall, LDC, DuPont, Interline (U.S. West), Duval County School Board, CSX, the Jacksonville Symphony, and the Army Corp of Engineers.

Dr. Berry has wide experience in corporate communications, public relations, advertising and marketing. With over 25 years experience in government, private and public corporate cultures, Dr. Berry’s professional expertise is frequently sought to help corporations find workable solutions to the challenges of leadership and communication. 

Dr. Berry is currently researching, publishing, and speaking on Communication Trends in the 21st Century, the Impact of Social Media, The Art of Personal Branding, corporate and personal, the Glass Ceiling for Women in Corporations, the Redesign of the Undergraduate and Graduate Business Curriculum and other business and pedagogical subjects. She created a Financial Literacy curriculum along with Family Foundations that is currently serving corporate women in Jacksonville. Most recent publication in the April 2011 American Journal of Business  Education:  Teaching Leadership in the EMBA program.

Dr. Berry was a guest at the Oxford Round Table Forum at St. Anne’s College, Oxford University in July 2009. She was one of forty presenters from around the world discussing Women’s Careers: The Presumptions and Burdens of Proof. The Forum was held in historic Oxford Hall where both Mother Teresa and Nelson Mandela have stood advocating for peace! . Dr. Berry’s paper was peer-reviewed and published  in the American Journal of Business Education. She was also a guest professor during the winter semester of 2007 at the University of Caen in France where she lectured to international post-graduates on Doing Business in a Global Economy.

Dr. Berry is active in her community for a variety of non-profits, and a member of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, Honorary member of Alpha Kappa Phi, established charter chapter for Jacksonville University Toastmasters, Director for the Davis Thought Leaders Speakers Series, former member of the Mayor’s Commission on the Status of Women, the Association for Business Communicators, the Economic Roundtable of Jacksonville Executive Board (NABE), and the Women’s Executive Leadership Chapter, Family Foundation Advisory Board, the World Affairs Council, and the International Visitors Corp.

Children's Haven

Directed and worked with  this special non-profit 501(3)c Board to house and rehabilitate and love young boys ages 12-18 referred by State Agency: Youth and Family Services. Took the Board from small group of 10 members to a Board of 50 active members, contributing and participating. Facilitated the Board process, hired and supervised the House personnel, and actively raised monies to support the Home. Secured official office space, hired a development director and office staff.

Designed and specific training and professional development programs for excutive management teams: How to Manage your People. Performed communications Audits. Isolated communication breakdowns and instituted systems for enhanced internal communications.
