I am currently with TCS's client – XO Communications working as the project manager and handling 4 projects spanning revenue assurance, billing audit, performance testing and Siebel ordering for XO Communications.

XO Communications is a leading Communications Service Provider in the US with a FY2009 revenue of $1.5 billion. It is focused exclusively on businesses, government, and carrier and wholesale service providers. This is a new account for TCS, which has widened my scope for business development. A summary of my job functions -

üManaging 4 teams which work on an offshore-nearshore-onsite model

üEvaluating RFP (Requests for Proposal) from client

üPreparing proposals in response to RFPs to bid for new business

üQuoting costs, no. of resources and pricing for proposals

üPresales work including generating leads for up sell opportunities

üSelling TCS capabilities in BPM, documentation, analysis, testing and others to directors in XO Comm

üEstimation of costs and determination of budget for the projects

üProjection and control of quarterly revenue and profit to higher management

üTracking and mitigating the risks

üDevelopment of project plan for monthly, quarterly and end of contract deliverables

üPlanning, assigning and tracking activities and upcoming milestones.

In this period, I managed the Customer Relationship Management Manager (CRMM) project for TCS's client – Verizon Telecom. The main objective of the CRMM team is to qualify all the business rules on bundles and promotions that are introduced into the system from the PLMs (Product Line Managers) from Verizon’s marketing team. This is a project that gives strategic direction to the most important aspect of Verizon telecom – consumer marketing.

This being a new project for TCS, I was responsible for forming the team onshore with resources from TCS and executing the project as per the $4 million SOW. A summary of my job functions -

üAcquiring TCS employees and contractors from various countries (US, India, Mexico) to form a international team of 20

üDeveloping the project team with help of KT sessions assigning roles as per the requirement and expertise of the candidates

üEstimation of costs and determination of budget for the project

Sherwin Williams, the number one Paints & Coats Company in the US was one of our clients at the Action Learning Project (ALP). Although the company is leading now, it is facing the problem of saturation in the US market. It wants to explore new markets and expand geographically to avail a sustained growth.

I worked on a 2 month project as part of my MBA program as an action learning consultant in a team from my MBAclass. We devised a strategy for Sherwin Williams to address the Indian market in a big way.

üLed a team of 4 members; we worked together and presented several innovative path breaking ideas for sustained growth in the product, target market and service portfolio arenas. The client liked many of them, and chose the “Remote painting”.

üUsed B-to-B calling with top level managers of SHW India and various potential clients of SHW in India, such as Raheja, Purvankara, etc.

üCollaborated with the head quarters of Sherwin Williams in USA and India to understand the dynamics across geographies; Condensed conversations with client’s potential competitors in the new market to understand barriers to entry.

üPresented client with a sound strategy for this idea by identifying growth gaps and recommending paths of innovation to achieve sustainable business models. The presentation included the value proposition with expected financials, a crisp and clear implementation plan with contingencies and market risks taken into consideration.

During this period, I worked with TCS's client - Tata Teleservices Ltd in the production support group (PSG) of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for postpaid services. The main objective of the PSG was to ensure reduction in issues related to the application when in use by the BPO users and give a clear indication of the current customer experience with the client’s services and give top management reports with which future strategy could be formalized to achieve higher customer satisfaction and greater revenues. This was crucial with a database of over 20 million customers live.

I was leading the team of 13 for the postpaid services which, as part of CRM support, was tracking production calls, escalations, fixing bugs, customizing the forms, JSP interaction pages and generating reports using Report builder as per client’s requirement. A summary of my job functions -

üProject lead for a 13 member postpaid services team in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) in Tata Teleservices

üAllocating resources to various escalations and prioritizing calls according to urgency level of the issue

üIntegrating and coordinating efforts with the development team, so as to ensure knowledge sharing and management of change requests, so as to keep the team abreast with the changes and prepare them for unforeseen production issues

üTraining BPO users from all over India on usage of the software application, and resolution of smaller issues without escalation to the PSG team

üAddressing top management issues and escalations through conference calls and meetings with the client

üGenerating reports for the client’s top management and marketing team to understand customer concerns and design better and new products to improve customer satisfaction and company revenue

üUsed the best business and documentation practices and followed TL9000 quality management system

üDesigned a inter-team knowledge management system which enhanced knowledge sharing and understanding, reducing tensions between various teams

üImproved system efficiency of the software used across India by 50% in 2 months using root cause analysis

During this period, I worked with TCS's client - Tata Teleservices Ltd in the development team of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for postpaid services. The main objective of CRM implementation was to provide a tool to the client to manage complete life cycle of a customer. To accomplish this, system needed to interface with other systems like billing, order Management, POS, Tibco, etc. Oracle was chosen as the CRM product to be implemented.

 I was leading change requests and managing implementation and documentation of client expectation, customizing the forms and reports as part of CRM implementation. I have worked on various Oracle related technologies, including oracle form customization using PL/SQL, library files such as Custom.pll, custom oracle reports for clients, building business processes using Oracle workflow builder, APIs, etc. A summary of my job functions -

üUsed the best business and documentation practices and followed TL9000 quality management system

üRolled out project for value added services (VAS) such as Interactive voice recording (IVR) and short texting features in the initial month of my entry into project

üDelivered Toll Free Services for Tata Indicom customers within record time. This is a high revenue generating service for the company

üImplemented Do not Disturb (DND) functionality as regulated by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) in record time of 1 week, without foregoing any step in the SDLC

üApplied CRM to improving customer relationship and increasing customer satisfaction

üEnsured quality by unit test specifications, running test cases in the development as well as through the testing team

During this period, I worked with TCS's client - UTI Mutual Funds (the then largest mutual fund company of India). TCS build the "Generic" Software which had a multi-tier architecture with the front end in Java and Oracle 8i as the RDBMS. Tuxedo 6.5 along with JOLT 1.2 is to serve as the middle ware.

 Here I worked in the capacity of a software programmer on technologies such as PL/SQL, MastercraftTM (Q++), Pro*C batch and Unix programming. A brief overview of my functions -

üCreated relational database and application software for UTI Generic (our client – a Mutual Fund Company)

üParticipated in every step of the software development cycle - coding, testing, support to user acceptance testing and delivery to production of the Sales module

üDesigned batch programs for various functionalities such as unit allocation for mutual fund customers, dispatch of SOA, repurchase of units etc.

I have done my international Masters in Business Administration from Hult International Business School (HIBS). HIBS provides a 1 year MBA program which is renowned for its internationally diverse student body and truly global experience. The students are allowed to international exposure, by being given the option of doing their elective study in any of the four campuses - Boston, Dubai, Shanghai, London.

I have had the superb experience of doing my elective courses in Shanghai, base campus being in Boston. Shanghai is one of the fastest growing cities in the world, with mind boggling rate of development. This program has given me exposure to a student body from over 38 countries. Understanding their culture, style of working, achieving excellence while working with them in teams has been a great experience.
