A respected oral surgeon, Prashant Pandya, D.M.D, opened his practice in Bradenton, Florida, to make a difference in patients’ lives. During a recent trip to the Philippines, Dr. Pandya served on a volunteer surgical team that performed cleft lip and palate surgeries on local children who lacked access to proper medical treatment. He also works as a local on-call surgeon, responding to facial trauma cases at Manatee Memorial Hospital, Sarasota Memorial Hospital, and Blake Medical Center. With a desire to help patients with oral trauma and disfigurement, Prashant Pandya, D.M.D., trained as an oral and maxillofacial surgeon. In order o further assist these patients, he earned certification in Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

From 2001 to 2005, Prashant Pandya, D.M.D, studied dentistry at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in Louisville, Kentucky. An excellent student, Dr. Pandya won the Dr. X. Elwood Sanders Award for Clinical Excellence in Exodontia. He spent the following four years completing his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Shands Jacksonville Medical Center, part of the University of Florida Health System. Named Chief Resident during his tenure, Prashant Pandya, D.M.D., also focused his energies on clinical research into facial trauma and other subjects. In 2007, he presented research on endoscopic transmaxillary approaches to correct orbital blowout fractures at the University of Florida Health Science Center. During the same period, he served on the Executive Committee of the Resident Organization of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Today, Prashant Pandya, D.M.D, leads a practice that focuses on advanced dentistry and oral surgery. Serving the residents of East Manatee County, the Manatee Oral & Facial Surgery Center offers a host of specialized services that include removing wisdom teeth; correcting jaw disorders and bite defects; treating oral and skin cancer, as well as temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders; and performing cosmetic facial procedures, such as Botox injections. In addition, Dr. Pandya performs dental implant surgery. As an alternative to removable dentures or fixed bridges, dental implants function like natural teeth and prevent bone loss.
