Attending Psychiatrist for Beth Israel Medical Center in New York, Dr. David Brody also maintains a private practice in New York City and holds a teaching job at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University. A graduate of University of Chicago and Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Dr. David Brody has treated patients since the early 1980s, when he accepted a flexible internship and psychiatry residency at Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers of New York. Additionally, Dr. David Brody completed a psychopharmacology fellowship with New York University School of Medicine and earned board certification from the National Board of Medical Examiners and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. Other honors received by Dr. David Brody include a Certificate of Commendation for Excellence in Psychiatric Research during his residency and Outstanding Teacher of the Year from Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers of New York. Throughout his career, Dr. David Brody has offered his services to a number of different organizations and hospitals. Students from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Yale University School of Medicine, New York Medical College, and New York University School of Medicine have benefited from his instruction. Dr. David Brody has treated patients at New York Veterans Administration Medical Center and Arden Hill Hospital in New York and Danbury Hospital and Fairfield Hills Hospital in Connecticut. In the late 1980s, Dr. David Brody served on the Bellevue Hospital Center AIDS Team. This research enabled him to write articles and give presentations about psychological issues affecting AIDS patients, thus leading to a better understanding of the disease. Some of the topics published by Dr. David Brody consist of schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, suicide risk factors, and the drugs buspirone and zolpidem. Aside from his career, Dr. David Brody remains active in his profession. For several years, he sat on the West Hudson Psychiatric Society’s Executive Council as Education Chair. The New York/New Jersey Chapter of the American Association of Psychiatric Administrators named Dr. David Brody as President for 2005-2006. Currently, he serves as Secretary for the New York County District Branch of the American Psychiatric Association.
