Oversee the production of 26 Cincinnati Enquirer  metro weeklies at the Louisville Design Studio. Coordinate design staff on disbursement of workload, troubleshooting and making deadlines, serve as a liaison between home-based editors and design staff, slot content onto pages, design, edit and typeset.  work closely with EOP (press and plate room) and Edition Planning (advertising) departments. Also design and daily and special sections as needed, including products for the Indianapolis Star and Cincinnati Enquirer.

Louisville (Ky.) Courier Journal/Design Studio

 Louisville Design Studio Design/Editing hub for Gannett Corp. We design and edit more than 30 daily and  50 weekly newspapers. Publications include the Courier-Journal, Indianapolis Star and Cincinnati Enquirer. Others include Port Huron, Lansing,  Battle Creek and LIvingston County  (Michigan), Asheville, N.C., and Greenville (S.C.), Lafayette, Muncie and Richmond (Indiana), Ohio dailies Zanesville, Chillicothe, Coshocton, Marion, Mansfield, Lancaster, Fremont, Port Clinton, Newark and Bucyrus. Also Henderson and Evansville, Indiana and three Pennsylvania dailies including the York Daily Record. Duties included selecting, ranking and editing wire copy for these papers.Also designed inside news wire pages..  Work closely with the local site newspaper editors via communicator and with primary page designers in the Studio. Fast-paced, high volume and deadline oriented work.

Booth Mid Michigan

Sports editor for Booth Mid Michigan media company and part of the ground-floor leadership team charged with changing the business model from a print-only, seven-day newspaper publication to digital-first and four-day print news organization. Was central in helping  launch new business model on a variety of platforms including but not limited to Movable Type blog posts, Facebook, Twitter, Live Chats, video posts and photo galleries. Engineered and executed the formation of a three-market sports call center to one common location. Developed a collaboration plan between three editorial markets and a centralized copy desk/design/printing center. Workedin a 24-7 news environment, managing staff, coordinated coverage in print and online. Developed an award-winning live chat called "Live Huddle," which brought online users inside the live chat huddle on Friday night high school football for insight from reporters, score updates and engagement interaction. Developed strategies for online engagement using several different platforms including but not limited to blog posts, comment elevation, link posts, story aggregation using Google alerts, RSS feeds, photos, video and email pushes. Daily interaction with the public and news sources, wide array of public speaking, communication and problem solving during the course of this tenure.

Implemented technological changes, leading the evolution from print-only to Web-driven publications. Collaborated with other departments in the newsroom, advertising, marketing, circulation and classified on a daily basis. Served as the communication liason for companies, teams, clubs and readers. Extensive public speaking experience and problem-solving and innovative skills. Regularly directed daily news coverage and also contributed stories and columns on a regular basis.
