As a Section Engineer, Parsons Int’l., Limited Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Since Nov’13 

Projects On-going:

Riyadh Metro Project, Saudi Arabia as a Section Engineer for Ar-riyadh Development Authority, Saudi Arabia. Ar-Riyadh New Mobility has been awarded a contract to design and build Line 3 which is the longest line at 40.7km. The route is mostly elevated along the western part of Al – Madinah Al Munawwarah Road, then underground in bored and mined tunnels in the central section of the line, and generally at grade along Prince Saad Ibn Abdulrahman Road in the east. Line 3 features 22 stations, including the marque "Qasr Al Hokom" and "Western” Stations, 4.6 km of bored and mined tunnel, 24.5 km of viaduct with maintenance depots at the west and east extremities

Role (Briefly):

Project is in initial stage and Contractor Geotechnical investigations are going on.

As a Sr. Site Engineer, Bouygues Batiment Int’l., Doha, Qatar (Oct ’10 – Oct ’13, 3 years)  

Projects Completed

Qatar Petroleum District Project, Doha as a Sr. Site Engineer for Q P, Doha, Qatar. The project includes nine 18 to 52 storey office towers, a five star hotel, a shopping centre, a mosque as well as parking facilities and utilities – Cost of $3.5 Billion.

I involved in Structural works of Hotel area (3500 sqm, of Podium area and 1850 sqm, of floor area of Typical Tower area), Structural steel works in Energy centre and Hotel area, and all the Retrofit and Slab strengthen works for the project as per Engineer’s instructions.

Role (Briefly):

Responsible for the progress of the specified gamut including meeting with the targeted date of completion by managing the site team effectively and by constant updating of Key Production Indicators.Responsible for Reinforced Concrete works, Steel structural works, Architectural works, Post Tensioning Works (Internal & External), Caron Fibre Reinforced Polymer installation (Strengthening of Post tension slabs), Managing of Specialist subcontractor (PERI) from Tender stage to final closure, Temporary works,  and all the Retrofit works required as per the Engineers Instructions.    

Conducting site meetings with sub-contractors & consultants to keep in-line with the Work schedules, specifications defined by the consultants, complying with the construction plans and application of systematic approach of managing the project. Meetings with design team in order to solve the site technical issues by using complex engineering problem solving techniques. Attending safety meetings to see how the safety standards can be improved in the site. Dealing with Clients/Consultants for project hand-over and associated works.

 Take off quantities of materials and manpower and ensure all the required resources are available prior to commencing the project. Handling the quality control and cost control by constant looking simplification methods by using engineering techniques and wastage control of major materials like Concrete, Reinforcement, Plywood, Chemicals, Scaffoldings and usage of manpower, equipment’s etc. Checking the cost impacts of additional and extra works by Preparation of variation claims (Day works or Assessing costs) by in-depth understanding of (FIDIC) Conditions of contract. 

Timely preparation of site records, daily reports and progress monitoring to maintain files. Preparation of Method statements by applying systematic approach of engineering activities, Inspection test plans, works specific Environmental plans, Risk assessments, Quality Bulletins and Contingency plans. In-depth checking of all construction drawings prior to the work to find out the mistakes, site difficulties, coordination of other drawings, application of project specifications etc...

Role (Briefly):

Responsible for At grade Metro construction, Piles, Pile cap and Pier construction, Viaduct Precast erections, Architectural works in Stations, Construction of Diversion Road, Pipe laying, Construction of Manhole chambers, Horizontal Directional Drilling etc…Review the Shop drawings, Method statements, initial project submittals and coordinating with the Resident / Assistant resident engineer on all required changes to the construction drawings.Review of programme to ensure that all activities are in a timely manner and advising the contractor to complete the work in stipulated time.Plan, hold and record regular meetings on site with the Contractor: such as coordination meeting and planning meetings. Monitor, record and report project progress against the agreed program.Review of daily report and verification of plant and labourers engaged by the contractor on a day to day basisCo-ordinating with Resident Engineer in Approving of contractor’s interim payment bills as per yard sticks.Record all inspection activities ensuring factual information of any variations, tests, and methods of construction proposed by the contractor and other documents. Advice and issue instructions to the contractor on all corrective action to deviations. Inspection of material submittals and their compliance with the standards/Specification/Manufacturer's Instruction. Inspection of all activities related to RCC & Steel structures, Civil and to the standards/specifications with due consideration of tolerance mentioned in the Standards/Specification. Provide final approval of As-Built drawings submitted by the Contractor.Inspection of all the works before substantial completion, preparing snag list and its proper rectification. Preparing and submitting of presentations and project close-out reports to client.Presenting Progress reports of all assignments to the department manager and preparing all necessary reports, corresponds and internal memorandums of the department.
