Responsible for all business management including accounting, banking, indirect rate development, and human resources for this defense contractor.  Reported directly to the president and the Board of Directors.  Reduced A/R by 50% and implemented cafeteria style benefit plan. 

Goldenberg/Rosenthal, CPAs

Part of four-person team responsible for audit data compilation of firm's largest client, handled three multi-divisional companies for this client in the entertainment industry with international sales.  Also worked with domestic TV, radio and promotional sales for this client.  Utilized complex PC spreadsheet systems to compile, analyze, and prepare data for presentations.

Horizon House, Inc

Developed/managed government contract accounting and administration systems and departments, regulatory affairs at Horizon House, a group of six non-profit human services corporations with operations in two states.  Monitored all financial activity totaling $25M, and prepared reports for senior management.  Managed $23M in government contracts, and compliance with regulations.  Calculated overhead/indirect cost rates; maintained complex inter-company accounts.  Conducted annual internal audits and coordinated external audits.  Serviced approximately 4,000 consumers.  Five Corporations in Philadelphia, and 1 school in Delaware.  Supervisory role; reported to the CFO. 

Massachusetts Society For the Prevention of Cruelty to Children

Reported to CFO and managed all contracts for this statewide agency.  Interpreted and applied federal, state, and local regulations, liaison to various funding sources.  Responsible for government contract reporting and administration, tax return preparation, regulatory affairs, and corporate annual audit.  Wrote contract billing procedures for state-wide use.  Conducted statewide training sessions with management and administrative level staff members.

CCC Information Services, Inc

Developed newly created position; design, development, and set up of office staff and procedures for Zone Office for the Eastern third of the USA and the Caribbean for this international software development firm.  Designed and documented national sales order process and procedures, including National user manual.  Very dynamic environment- customer base grew from 2,600 to 6,000.  Responsible for budgets/reporting, human resources, daily business operations/management, and Zone Office management (10 people onsite; 30 field people).  Hire/fire responsibilities.  Excelled in this management position working from home during one year office procurement and setup period.  $250 million division operating budget in an E-business environment, extensive computer work - entire business computerized.  Reported to Vice President.

Recovery from Blindness

Period of five years of vision loss resulting from eye surgery during which I learned to: read/write Braille, use screen-reading software (JAWS), and use a white cane to maintain mobility and independence. Also developed skill set to live independently, maintain personal finances, maintain home (lived alone), pursue personal development, and initiate work on writing (using JAWS).  Excelled at working independently in correspondence courses (3 Braille; 1 Chess) through the Hadley School for the Blind.  Currently a correspondence student in Library of Congress/NFB Braille Transcription course.

Speyer Door and Window, Inc

Provide an R&D firm with interpretations of various State, National, and International Building Codes, Standards, and Regulations to assure superior impact product development and design that will pass stringent product approval testing and certification for use in High-Velocity Hurricane Zones (HVHZ) and non-HVHZ areas.  Provide top management with information, criteria, current and upcoming activity and changes in regulatory, legislative, industry, and standards and codes.  Completed 3 day training in course on Window5/Therm5 conducted by Design Builder Software.  Report to Chief Operating Officer.
