Structural Research

Syracuse University

·      NEXT Beam (innovation) vs Others Prestress Bridge Girders-“Bridge System with Prestressed Concrete GirdersInvestigation of Structural Efficiency and Accelerated Bridge Construction”. Study is being concededout by means of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Specifications & Prestress Concrete Design, (Used STAAD Pro, Microsoft Excel & Microstation)

·      The study is conceded out on a four lane single span prestressed concrete bridge girder. The parametric study involves the Bridge girder length spanning from (50’-0” to 90’-0”) the compressive strength f”c was varied.

·      The Bridge design comparison was made between six different types of  girder (AASHTO Type IV, Texas U-54, Box BIV-48, NEXT-36D, NEXT-36F, Box BIV-48 (adjacent to each other))

Master’s Project: Next Beam (Innovation) vs Others Bridge Girders - “Study of Efficiency of Prestressed Concrete Bridge Structures”. Parametric study is being concededout by means of AASHTO LRFD & PCI

Seismic Analysis: Analysis of concrete building by means of SAP 2000. Performed Response Spectrum Analysis, Time Domain Analysis & Modal Analysis and theoretical computation of Equivalent Lateral Force Method was also carried out.

Rehabilitation of Bridge (Cortland Bridge): Bridge Inspection was conceded out. Based on worsening, long term solution was projected (External Post tensioning). Detail analysis and design was conceded out based on the new loads & BOQ was suggested

Design of Parking Garage (University Ave Garage): Analyzed and designed components of garage analogous to double tee girder & inverted tee girder (by means of green materials for components). Design was accomplished with facilitate of PCI Handbook.

Buckling Analysis, Dynamic Analysis & Non Linear Analysis: Analyzed the behavior of beam under euler load. A model of Beam was tested in an assortment of combinations of elements & simulation was performed by ANSYS (Finite element approach-failure test)

Design of Commercial Steel Building: Analysis and design of steel building using RISA-3d. I got familiar with LRFD, 13th edition.

Design of Commercial Building: Analyzed and designed various components like Slabs, Beam, Shear Wall, Footing, Columns and Retaining Wall. Green engineering was integrated (fit outs of glass panels & green roofing system, STP plant set up as a secondary function of in house production of Energy). By doing this I got familiar with ACI code, IBC code & LEED points system.

Fire Station Project-(South Onandaga): Budgeted report was prepared in Suretrak Software. The upshot of project was to decide schedule of construction activity with efficient use of resources, I got familiar with RS Means & NYS Prevailing Wage.

Concrete Bridge Rehabilitation (Vashi-Panvel Bridge)• Duties included structural inspection; bridge rating based on CIDCO inspection rating manual and suggested a repair recommendation. Based on interpretation proposed a solution of structural overlay epoxy grouting. My objective was to study possible issues that can arise in bridge structures and propose remedial measures. Motive to choose this project was Repairs & Restoration of Bridge Structure was technical deficiency in INDIAKoyna Dam Phase-3• Visited and Studied the Koyna Dam. Here I study different Hydaraulic structures, the working of the dam and the process of power generation used at the DamTechnical Paper Presentation for ACC Company• Blended Cement: The paper concentrated on how Blended Cement can help to control various problems & reduce the permeability of concrete.
