Experience with Enrollment Projections and necessary building projects to meet capacity

Commissioned and utilized no less than four enrollment projections over the ten year period.  This was necessary to keep abreast of continual and unprecedented growth within the school systen over the time of my tenure.

Experience leading the system to the first "system-wide charter school" status in the state

Legislation was passed in Georgia encouraging and allowing public school systems to become "Charter Systems".  This meant that the school system designed an application, with community input, and sought a direct contract with the state.  CSD was one of the first four systems and led the way for others.  We have renewed once and now have a ten-year agreement.

Experience in Development and Management of Operational and Capital Budgets

The operating budget was reaching an all time high in 2003.  THe budgetiing process was changed to be more transparent and allow board members the opportunity to review the budget over several months.  Due to conservative budgeting, the millage was contained and money was used first for instructional purposes.

Experience in Communication With Staff, DOE Personnel, Community and Press

The system, under my leadership, has employeed the use of Facebook and E Blasts to communicate more effectively with the community.  The system annually puts out a comprehensive report which is sent to all residents. In addition, the Superintendent and personnel have been asked to speak to upcoming legislative and educational issues.

Experience in Board Superintendent Relationships

This is a critcal component of any superintendency.  Under my leadership, we moved from a paper driven meeting to an on-line E Board format.  In addition, the Board is provided with a great deal of information prior to making any decisions.

Experience in Supervision of Personnel and dealing with Human Resource / Legal Issues

Maintaining a strong system involves making difficult decisions related to employees.  Following the law and  maintaining a fair and equitable system for all personnel and students is paramount to a good repurtation for the school system.
