In his current role as Managing Director for the real estate advisory division of Alvarez & Marsal, and as Chief Executive Officer of Lehman Brothers' real estate division, Philip Cyburt applies more than 25 years of experience in executive leadership. He has worked with several Fortune 500 companies as well as co-founded his own real estate advisory firm. Experienced in corporate restructuring as well as real estate management, Philip Cyburt's expertise includes property foreclosures and restructuring, strategic planning, portfolio valuation, and real estate development. Philip Cyburt pursued his undergraduate study at Chapman University, enrolling after a five-year career as a professional baseball player with the Oakland Athletics and Pittsburgh Pirates. He accepted his first real estate position while completing his studies, joining the team of Lee & Associates Real Estate Brokerage in 1985. He served with the company until 1987, having received his Bachelor of Science in Finance in 1986. He then served as Director of Development with Tishman Realty and Construction for three years, at which time he joined McDonnell Douglas Realty Corporation as the company's president. Philip Cyburt's tenure with McDonnell Douglas also included service as lead executive with the company's finance corporation in the early 1990s, during which time he guided the company's portfolio management team through the liquidation and disposition of an 18-property commercial real estate loan portfolio. He remained with the company as it became a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, ultimately climbing to the position of President with Boeing Realty Corporation. He then went on to co-found Cyburt Hall Partners in 2003, leading the company until he accepted his current role in 2009.Since 2009, Philip Cyburt has focused his attentions primarily on the management of Lehman Brothers' globally distressed real estate portfolio, which at a value of $23 million constitutes the largest bankruptcy and restructuring effort in national history. As leader of the portfolio's liquidation, Philip Cyburt applies his extensive experience in real estate management and asset distribution to optimize profitability and positive outcome of the company's properties.
