Asia Pacific Cultural Center

Asia Pacific Cultural Center's mission is to celebrate and share our Asia Pacific cultures. Washington State is now home to more than 250,000 Americans of Asian heritage. The State’s fastest growing minority population is in many ways the least visible. Lack of knowledge of Americans of Asian and Pacific Island cultural heritage by other population groups can lead to problems of cultural intolerance and misunderstandings. Our cultural education programs and the events and programs we produce help bring an appreciation and understanding our the many Asia Pacific cultures in our community.

Video Specialist

City of Tacoma

TV Tacoma is the City of Tacoma's government information channel. Being a small, government cable television station, video production specialists were required to wear many hats. As producer of CityLine, a weekly, hour long talk show, I booked the guests (four segments per show per week), prepped the show for the host, built the graphics and ran the cameras (robotic).

Meeting coverage, encoding video for web streaming, producing/writing/shooting/editing special projects from PSA's to video packages for special events were part of my duties. The last major task I accomplished was the total redesign of the CityLine set and on air graphics. The graphics package utilized 3d animation in the open and lower thirds.

Regis University

Regis University educates men and women of all ages to take leadership roles and to make a positive impact in a changing society. Standing within the Catholic and United States traditions, we are inspired by the particular Jesuit vision of Ignatius Loyola. This vision challenges us to attain the inner freedom to make intelligent choices.

Regis University Online holds strong to the Jesuit values of social justice and academic rigor in all of its degree programs. The choice of Regis University, to me, was an easy one.

Jul 1977 - Dec 1979

From its founding in 1945, Brooks Institute through the Professional Photography Program has provided a hands-on, student-focused education. This method of experiential learning remains the foundation of instruction in all programs at the Institute today. Close collaboration between faculty and students in the classroom, the darkroom and digital labs, and the field continues to help prepare individuals for careers in professional photography.

Just as important as the education in photography was the experience of stiff competition, hard work and learning creative thinking in problem solving.

1971 - 1974

U.S. News and World Report ranks UH Hilo as a national liberal arts (and science) university. We have the distinction of being the only national liberal arts institution in Hawai‘i and one of only 22 public national liberal arts institutions in the United States. The benefit is a state university which conducts research and creates knowledge while also providing a personal and friendly atmosphere.

My liberal arts education was  prior to transfering to complete my Bachelors degree.
