In May, I graduated from Longwood University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with a concentration in Organizational Communications and Public Relations. I feel that I have had a well-rounded education at Longwood which has made me confident in my ability to succeed in the job field because of the nature of the coursework and classroom structure. I have taken unique insight, knowledge and experience from each of my courses. In my Applied Organizational Communications course, we conducted a semester long audit of an on-campus organization. At the end of the semester, we provided our client with a professional written report and presentations high lighting the areas of strength, weakness and opportunity for improvement. In this course, I learned the importance of collaboration in styles of research, as we incorporated surveys, interviews and observational analysis. In my Organizational Communications course, we planned a fund raiser for a local non-profit organization; and in my Persuasion Theory course, we applied different methods of persuasion to develop a campus wide campaign about STD awareness. Currently, I am working on my senior thesis which examines the relationship between fantasy football and fan loyalty as they co-exist.
