With nearly 25 years of experience in the law enforcement and private security industry, Peter M. Liota began his vocation as a close protection specialist after completing an extensive course of post-secondary training. A former United States marine, Peter Liota completed the New York Police Department specialized protection security training and dignitary protection course. Through his training he has become proficient in defensive driving, surveillance, and surveillance detection and earned certification to practice first aid and CPR and operate an AED, or automated external defibrillator.

Currently the owner and Director of the New York City-based, SJC Group, Inc., Peter Liota operates among a select team of retired law enforcement personnel who have acquired an average of 30 years of experience in the field. Licensed by the Department of State, the SJC Group provides a number of security services for individual clients and client companies seeking individual or asset protection. With an extensive clientele, the SJC has provided personal protection for public relation firms, boutique retail stores, galleries, hotels, and film production companies, among others. Through his varied roles over the years, Mr. Liota holds a track record of success working in fast pace, high-pressure situations. An active problem solver with exceptional communications skills, Mr. Liota has held the titles, project manager, team leader, advance agent, close protection agent, and personal protection specialist.

Retired from his role as a distinguished New York City detective, Peter Liota continues to participate within his community by serving as a member of the New York Police Department’s Police Athletic League and St. John’s University’s Indian Society. Mr. Liota earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Criminal Justice from St. John’s University in 1988.
