Peter Killcommons serves as founder and CEO of www.medweb.com. Since 1992, Peter Killcommons’ web-based RIS/PACS system has aided clients with the latest in downloadable interface technology, improving efficiency without the high costs of licensure. Providing clients with “one-record” patient assistance, Peter Killcommons has created a portal that remains vital to the medical community. Often used by clients in nontraditional settings, Peter Killcommons’ Medweb portal products are flexible and secure, designed for areas with unreliable power or communications systems. Peter Killcommons’ innovative telemedicine platforms are in use in some of the world’s most remote locations, such as Pakistan, Afghanistan, and the island of Tristan da Cunha, and his company Medweb has undertaken several important technology projects for the United States Military. Peter Killcommons continues his medical technology pursuits in developing regions of the world and holds a special interest in solar technology. Concentrating on impoverished areas, Peter Killcommons is currently exploring the development of more cost-effective photovoltaic solar technology. With a background in the medical field, Peter Killcommons completed his medical studies with the City College of New York and New York Medical College during an accelerated program. He continues to devote time to many philanthropic medical missions, joining the USNS Comfort hospital ship in a trip to Peru to distribute medical supplies. Peter Killcommons also supports the American Red Cross, the World Cares Center, and Pens for Peace. Pens for Peace is an idea based on the writings of Greg Mortenson’s travels in Pakistan and Afghanistan, discussed in the book Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace... One School at a Time.
