Sarah Dallam is a student at the University of Alabama majoring in Human Nutrition to become a Registered Dietitian.  Her expected acceptance into the Coordinated Program in Dietetics is Fall 2011 and expected graduation date is December 2012.


Sarah's objective is to obtain a job in the field of Dietetics.


Sarah Dallam has an array of interests inside the scope of Dietetics.  She is most interested in working in medical nutrition and helping children with Cystic Fibrosis, PKU, Diabetes Mellitus, cancer patients, or any other disease process where nutrition intervention is essential.  Sarah also has an interest in working with older adults to understand their prescription's pharmaceutical and nutritional relationship.  Many medicines require dietary adjustments and many older adults need the help of a dietitian to understand.

  • Promote healthy nutrition habits to patients in a hospital setting

  • Complete a dietetics internship
  • Sit for and pass the Registered Dietitian (RD) exam
  • Enhance her knowledge in how nutrition can be useful in different disease processes

Organization Memberships and Activities

Pi Beta Phi Sorority, initiated Fall 2008

  • Food Committee,  plans meals with the house mother and staff to accommodate the quantity of members in the sorority
  • Greek Week Coordinator,  organized the activities and community service involvement
  • Relay for Life participant
  • Arrow Board Member,  responsible for boosting the morale of the sorority with creative events to reward members for their success

Work Philosophy

Sarah's philosophy towards work includes five ideas: teamwork, 100% effort, creativity, motivation, and balance.  Team work is important because everyone needs to be able to work with others well.  Sarah always gives her 100% effort and will not give up until the project is complete and meets her high standards.  Creativity allows Sarah to think outside the box whether that be ideas or her approach to understanding people and helping them.  Sarah's motivation is to always help others.  Motivation is the key to a great employee.  Lastly, but certainly not least, balance is necessary to have in order to achieve the highest results.
