VC- Industry funded, pre-IPO developer of a proprietary, highly efficient catalytic hydromethanation process to convert carbonaceous materials into pipeline-quality natural gas.

Recruited to expedite major gasification project opportunities in China. Draw upon extensive senior-level business and government knowledge base to advance project commercialization, build extensive potential investor base and nurture Chinese business partnerships, while gaining trust and acceptance of China-based project management team.

Laid solid foundation for ~30% annual growth (during my term) for virtually all business units. The company has achieved long-term sales and financial goals and achieved the long term goals set during my tenure.

- Strengthened and recruited local leadership team, reorganized industrial business operations, and initiated comprehensive corporate operating strategy across all critical aspects of marketing, manufacturing, strategic alliances and acquisitions.

- Established corporate offices in Shanghai. Worked with local manufacturing joint venture entities to reestablish solid performance and productivity.

Led the Asia growth initiatives. Elected corporate officer and appointed Managing Director of Sonoco Asia to lead regional growth of all corporate operating divisions. Served on various country boards including Asian affiliates and corporate joint ventures. Built partnerships based upon strategic networks. Developed and led key supplier and stakeholder relationships including government affairs.

Grew business footprint from one plant in Singapore to operations in every major Asian country (e.g., multiple plants, sales offices and warehousing / distribution facilities throughout China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Korea, India, Philippines, Japan). Executed P&L operations management, business development, strategic planning, finance and human resources.
