Summary

As a Franciscan Friar of Holy Name Province, Roman Catholic Priest Paul Lostritto has helped thousands of people. Following his education at Southern Connecticut State University, where he earned Bachelor’s degrees in Education and Nursing, he began pursuing his goal of making a difference in the lives of individuals who were less fortunate. After the completion of his Master’s degree in Divinity from the Washington Theological Union in Washington, D.C., Paul Lostritto directed his professional and personal efforts towards hospice work, nursing, and ministries.

For more than a decade, Paul Lostritto has been involved in providing aid to individuals in South America, Boston, New York, and other locales. He has traveled around North America, Europe, South America, Asia, and northern Africa, experiencing different cultures. This has given him the opportunity to minister to populations of many backgrounds.

Paul Lostritto has been a Roman Catholic Priest since 1996. As an experienced Franciscan Friar, he has been invited to speak at numerous engagements on a range of religious and scriptural topics. From 1986 to 1989, he worked as a Primary Care Nurse on the burn unit at the Yale New Haven Hospital, a nationally ranked hospital dedicated to offering quality medical care services with the use of leading-edge technologies.

After completing several years of ministry work in South America, Paul Lostritto managed the hospice team for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York as well as Continuum Hospice, a not-for-profit organization providing a variety of services for all New Yorkers. A qualified HIV/AIDS Research Nurse and certified pre- and post-test HIV Counselor, Paul Lostritto also focused his time and energy on HIV/AIDS clinical trials and research studies prior to his involvement with the Visiting Nurse Service. In his current position, he provides service as Director of the Franciscan Food Center and Baby Place.

Paul Lostritto makes the time to help others in the community, no matter how busy his schedule becomes. His outreach activity includes support of animal rights charities and work with prison ministries. When he has a chance, he enjoys taking a leisurely ride on his bicycle or contemplating his next oil painting.
