Public Speaking

I began to speak in front of small to medium sized groups in high school because of a public speaking class. I took the skills I learned and used it effectively in every job I have had since I began to work. Public speaking, whether speaking to one person or 50 people, has come in handy while being a cashier, sales specialist at Home Depot, student technician at Hofstra University, and resident assistant at Hofstra as well. I have learned several techniques when trying to disarm irate customers or frustrated teenagers. I am always learning new methods of talking and dealing with people in an effective manner.


I am a recent graduate from the Hofstra University Frank G. Zarb School of Business with a degree in Management / Information Technology. Much of my IT experience has come through working for the Hofstra University Help Desk. My tasks often included the organization of the offices I worked in, receiving shipments, making deliveries to the Hofstra Community, and assisting in the new equipment installation for the Hofstra administration, faculty, and academic departments.

My long term goal(s) is to land an entry level position in the Help Desk industry, either Level 1 or Level 2 in NYC. My years of experience at the Hofstra University Help Desk has enabled me to encounter all types of computer related problems, computer hardware, software, and different types of people. Because of this, I see myself growing as a person and an employee in any position that I am given.

I will be taking test preparation courses for both CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications in the third week of September. After that, I will most likely pursue certifications in MCDST, MCP, and CompTIA Security+.
