2000 – to 2009, Operations/Marketing/Events Director and Equity holder, Advantage Business Angels. Sutton started her employment with Advantage Business Angels in the year 2000 after 10 years living and working in France and Spain.
Initially employed as the website administrator of the company, within 2 years Sutton was promoted to office manager then was asked to join the board as Operations/Marketing Director.
Sutton was instrumental in achieving £19million of funding for small to medium size enterprises and also in acquiring a substantial grant from Government Office of West Midlands and Advantage West Midlands, (AWM), (£1 million a year for 3 years). The company was required to work to definite targets and to deliver exacting outputs in order to be a recipient of this government funding. When this round of funding came to an end, Sutton was responsible for achieving further funding from AWM while at the same time helped to create a “for profit” trading arm to the company.
