An active member of the broadcast industry, Patricia Wente has served on the St. Louis Association Board, the Public Broadcasting Internet Steering Committee, and has supported the efforts of Public Radio in Mid America throughout the years as the association’s Secretary, Vice President, and ultimately its President. Patricia Wente has also received numerous accolades for her extensive professional accomplishments. Among these, Patricia Wente has received the Public Broadcast Management Association’s Award of Excellence and was also named a Most Influential Business Woman honoree by the St. Louis Business Journal. Today, Patricia Wente serves as President of The Wente Group, Inc., which she founded to enable her client base to secure funding and to forge crucial industry connections, utilizing her extensive industry knowledge and experience. As a consulting firm, The Wente Group, Inc., has successfully provided the necessary impetus for many projects to launch and become self-sufficient. Patricia Wente frequently develops new strategies to support her clients, including public relations plans to allow them to increase the reach within their markets. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Illinois Springfield, Patricia Wente began her distinctive career in the industry by taking a position as the Station Manager at WRRS at Wichita State University. Subsequently, Patricia Wente accepted roles with the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and The University of Oklahoma, as well as St. Louis Public Radio. In addition to her private consulting work and her direct work with radio stations, Patricia Wente has also served as a Grants Reviewer for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
