Aon Risk Services

Bachelor of Sciences

University of the West Indies

Patricia Spellen earned a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences and Urban Planning from the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. She currently serves as an Executive Manager of Field Support Services for Aon Risk Services in Owings Mills, Maryland. Her responsibilities include ensuring the timely and accurate allocation of revenue derived from direct billing to clients. She also heads the company’s document management unit, which plays a key role in maintaining Aon’s fiduciary legal filing requirements. In addition, Patricia Spellen is Project Manager for one of the company’s major off-shoring initiatives for premium accounting services. This project involves coordinating the delivery of 80 processes to the company’s partner in New Delhi, India. As part of this initiative, Patricia Spellen oversaw the training of 60 associates from India by bringing them to Owens Mills. She supervises daily quality control procedures to ensure service level agreements are enforced, and serves as Business Continuity Manager for both local and offshore partners. Currently, Patricia Spellen hopes to improve communication between the Premium Accounting Service Center and local offices of Aon. In her opinion, achieving this requires changing the recording methodology of unapplied revenue. A painstaking process, the project requires close coordination with data management developers. Patricia Spellen previously earned accolades – and a promotion – from Aon for her work in the transitioning processes to India. The company gave her and her team the Aon Leadership Model Award for successfully handling the huge increase in workload during this time. Outside of work, Patricia Spellen participates in faith-based projects to help feed and clothe impoverished residents of her community through St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. She enjoys cooking, traveling, tennis, and netball, a sport similar to basketball that is popular in countries of the British Commonwealth.
