Mr. Patrice M. Pelletier served as Corporate Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing of ATS Automation Tooling Systems Inc. from May 2009 to October 2014.

Mr. Pelletier served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of Montreal Port Authority from September 2007 to April 2009.

Mr. Pelletier served as President of Spar Aerospace Limited, an affiliate of L-3 Communications Corporation and L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. from July 2005 to August 2007.

Prior to joining Spar Aerospace, Mr. Pelletier held several senior executive positions in the engineering-construction (SNC-Lavalin : 1988-1999, and 2004) and manufacturing (Bombardier : 1999-2004) sectors.

At SNC-Lavalin Inc., he progressed through a number of senior roles in the Power and International Divisions, including Senior Vice President of Special Projects and Senior Vice President of Asia.

At Bombardier Inc., Mr. Pelletier held successively the positions as Vice President of Project Development and Sales Asia, Vice President of Worldwide Project Development and Sales and President, Transit Systems Division, Bombardier Transportation.

Mr. Pelletier has over 30 years of domestic and global experience in conceptualizing ideas, seizing opportunities, building operations and leading successful new business development initiatives and ventures.

He is a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec and of the Professional Engineers of Ontario and of Alberta.

Mr. Pelletier holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal and a Master of Applied Sciences degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba.

Based in Bourgouin-Jallieu, responsible for the manufacturing, marketing and sales, engineering, project management, and delivery of complete solar energy products and systems. Annual revenues of approximately 200 million US with 750 employees operating from two main facilities (60,000 m2). Developed within 100 days of appointment, the first comprehensive strategic plan for this 30-year old pioneer in the field of renewable energies that led to a 25% cost reduction, significant improvement in solar cell performance, complete rebranding, and a complete repositioning of the company on the French market and other markets in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

Montreal Port Authority

World's largest inland port, generating 18, 200 jobs and $1. 5 billion annually in economic spin-offs.

Led the development of the port's first strategic plan. The four-phase $2. 5 billion 12-year plan was approved by the Board of Directors and is currently being implemented. The plan will triple port capacity, and generate 41, 000 jobs and $3. 5 billion annually in economic spin-offs, and increase national productivity by 0.6%.

  • Developed the financing plan for expansion, through MPA's equity and debt, public and private funding.
  • Developed a sustainable development plan and a framework for executing the Port's expansion plan harmoniouslywith its surrounding community.
  • Worked closely with clients such as MSC (world’s 2nd largest shipping line) that was seeking additional capacity, resulting in the establishment of a new weekly service for the Mediterranean market and significant growth for a developing market segment.
  • Updated processes and introduced new quarterly reporting requirements including the development of a series of KPIs and dashboard indicators covering all the sectors of activities.
  • Delivered record cargo tonnage results in both financial years 2007 and 2008. Increased 2008 revenues by 8% over 2007 and net profit by 27%. Ranked #1 in growth for container ports in North America.

SPAR a division of L-3 Communications, the 6th largest defence company in the USA (annual revenues of $13 B).

Responsible for the turnkey marketing and sales, engineering, project management, and delivery of complete maintenance and modernization programs for worldwide C-130 Hercules Aircraft markets. Annual revenues of approximately $100 million US with 550 employees operating from two main facilities (40,000 m2).

  • Developed the first-ever comprehensive business plan outlining short and long term strategies (2005-2010). Key countries for strategic pursuits were identified as well as products and services to meet current and future market and customer needs.

  • Reorganized and right-sized the organization by more than 20% over the 2005-06 financial years.

  • Improved customer satisfaction from 50% to a consistent score above 80% by provoking a cultural shift in the company to focus on meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

  • Developed an innovative offering involving international outsourcing and the authorization of the US Pentagon and US State Department, and transformed a contract valued at less than 5M$ into a 50M$ contract, which included a comprehensive maintenance contract due to outstanding client satisfaction.

Bombardier Transportation, Total Transit Systems

Bombardier Transportation : The world-leading manufacturer of innovative transportation solutions (annual revenues of $9 B). 

The annual revenue of the division was approximately $600 million US, with 1,500 employees operating on four continents. Specific achievements included:

  • Reorganized and right-sized the organization by more than 25% over a 12-month period (over the 2002-03 financial year), and reduced the wrap rate by 35%.

  • Restructured the operations to ensure a continuous focus on projects and clients. Refocused the sales and marketing activities to increase significantly the win rate from 1 out of 3 bids to 2 out of 3 bids.

  • Achieved the multiple executions and commissioning of high visibility rail transit projects with tight deadlines and fixed turnkey price in partnership with civil contractors.

  • Negotiated major contracts totaling more than $1.5 B with contracts value ranging from $100 to $500 millions in Taiwan, the U.S., Turkey and South Korea. The successful development of the Yongin LRT Project constituted South Korean’s first-ever award of an urban rail transport project to a foreign company.

Responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive business plans and strategies for several countries in Southeast and Northeast Asia. Managed the proposal management department worldwide. Established two new departments to address part of an emerging market(public-private partnerships) constituting 50% of the overall urban rail transit projects worldwide. This department became a world leader in private rail development and won multiple projects around the globe: South Korea, South Africa, and US. Led the development of innovative and rigorous project evaluation, selection and bid processes and tripled the win/bid success rate(from 20% to 60%). Developed and implemented a comprehensive strategy to build, finance, and operate & maintain urban transit systems, in partnership with different levels of government and private sector, in the Republic of South Korea. This lead to winning and the financial close of a project valued at more than $1 billion.
