I am a "second-generation" traditional (freehand) AND digital (computer) graphic artist-animator residing outside of Washington, D.C. My father learned his graphics craft as a 20 year veteran with the United States Air Force and as a high security cleared civilian creating visuals for the Pentagon's Joint Chiefs of Staff. Dad inspired me through his examples of perseverance, commitment to team and deadline, and appreciating the learning/teaching moments offered by a life in creative visual communications.
Along with my portfolio in media design and illustration for a broad scope of platforms and industries, my strengths include proven skills in personnel training/mentoring, business communications and admin support for upper management. I am an enthusiastic, approachable team member who loves to dive in and learn new content through collaboration with a wide variety of professionals.
My Expertise includes:
• Visual Information Specialist: Versatile in Medium and Style
--my first questions are always centered on the message and the target audience.
• Original Concepts, Storyboards and Script Treatments for On-Air and Multimedia --I love a great story!!
• 3D/2D Animation - Motion Design Artist, Director and Instructor.
• TV Graphics Manager and Quality Control Consultant
I innovated Standard Operating Procedure Documents designed to instruct with user friendly language and clear visual examples. The document is always accessible for those late night productions and always fresh with new tips and insights. For those who hate to read manuals (you know who you are!), I am very hands-on and enjoy speaking one-on-one!
• Development and Support of Creative/Branding Initiatives, Style Guides, Corporate Identity Toolkits!
I significantly contributed to launches of the following broadcast networks: The Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN), Discovery's Planet Green and Discovery's Fit & Health Cable Television Networks. I have designed/directed televised opens and collateral multi-media projects for PBS, ComCast Home Team Sports and various local and national organizations.
• Field Camera, Video Editing and Compositing
• Media Asset Management: Create/Restore/Consult/Archive --always with respect for the original file.
• Nature/Science/Medical Illustration: Web, Print and Video:
I was recognized by the Administrative Head of the Environmental Protection Agency as the standard for future contributing artists!
