I am seeking to be employed as a full time Youth Minister to middle, high, and/or college age students. The skills and life experiences provided me by God have allowed me a unique opportunity to relate to students in a way that presents the Gospel in an honest, yet non-threatening way. My goal is to see the generation touted as the "Last Christian Generation," saved by the Gospel and have their lives dramatically changed by the power of Jesus Christ.
I am prayerfully looking for a ministry that aligns with the Word of God and its truth first, and second will also respect my philosophy and principles of ministry. I earnestly desire to work for a church who is serious about investing in the youth of their members and their city, and not just babysitting them. A few items that I firmly believe are crucial to my success as a youth minister are a local body that believes in the potential of this generation and is willing to invest in them as well as leadership that believes that the most effective student ministry happens outside of the office, i.e. in the daily lives of students.
While these are not "non-negotiables" by any means, my ideal ministry position would consist of the ability to have room for creativity in programming, the ability to add future youth staff members, the ability to travel to a minimum of two conferences a year to recharge, the ability to take a minimum of two weeks vacation, a book stipend each year, at least one day off per week that is not a Sunday, and office hours that can give a little in the instance of a family emergency.
