David has 10 years experience of the Private Equity and Venture Capital industries working for 3i plc where he was Sector Partner for Media. David's sector focus is Media, having worked with 3i investment teams worldwide, and his role involved facilitating the strategic planning of the sector, raising 3i's profile in the market, identifying investment opportunities, and advising investment teams on the suitability of investments to 3i, particularly with regard to commercial due diligence. David also had portfolio management responsibility for a number of investee companies including independent TV production company, Shine Limited, experiential marketer, The Imagination Group and quoted PR company, Huntsworth plc. He represented 3i's interests as a Non-executive Director for 3i's first Indian investment, Nimbus Communications Limited, a TV/ Film production and Sports Rights business. Key deals that David advised on included; Fonecta, De Telefoongids and Herold Mediatel (subsequently merged into the Yellow Brick Road telephone directories business), Educational Information Group, Magix AG (entertainment software) and Zefa Visual Media (photo library). Before joining 3i in 1998 David spent over 10 years as a Managing Director in the engineering and media sectors. Former organisations are IMI plc, Thorn EMI plc, Wills Group plc and Quadrant Group plc. A Chartered Certified Accountant, David holds an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from Manchester University, an MBA from Manchester Business School and a Diploma in Marketing. He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Member of the Securities & Investment Institute and an Associate Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers. David left 3i in September 2007 to establish QV Partners. He is a Non-Executive Director of the listed marketing services group, First Artist Corporation plc and is Board Advisor to two hi-tech start-ups.

Eventually covered the whole Media sector globally and sat on the boards of Shine (UK, TV production) and Nimbus Communications, 3i's first Indian investment, a sports rights and TV/film production business.

Joined Group as Operations Director for Quadrant Video Systems. Was then promoted to General Manager. Following Group re-organisation was promoted to Managing Director of Quadrant Processing by March 2003. Turned round this loss making business by cutting costs and by acquiring two businesses.

Joined as Market Director Designate. Position confirmed as Marketing Director. Promoted to Director & General Manager and then subsequently Managing Director of CT(London) Limited by mid-1997. Additional responsibility for CT Electronics Limited from July 1990. Companies were UK and European distributors of a range of engineering products.
