About Pari Sara Shirazi

A longtime educator and artist, Dr. Pari Sara Shirazi spent nearly two decades as an administrator and advocate for New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Prior to her recent retirement, she served as the school’s vice dean, a role in which she managed all daily operations for the institution, including budgets, capital projects, and facilities. Dr. Pari Sara Shirazi also established initiatives such as the Office of Special Programs, which coordinated non-credit professional courses, international education, summer courses, and other non-regular programs.

Dr. Shirazi earned her bachelor’s degree from New York University before going on to complete two master’s degrees and a PhD from the school. Before her role as vice dean with the Tisch School of the Arts, she held a number of key leadership positions with the organization, including serving as an administrative director with the school’s department of film and television. Additionally, she spent several years as a faculty member, teaching courses on topics such as Iranian cinema and script analysis, and served as founder and president of Tisch School of the Arts Asia.

Since retiring from her administrative post, Dr. Shirazi has pursued her writing career. She recently completed a screenplay that was subsequently optioned.
