International Baccalaureate Diploma

Red Cross Nordic United World College

My High School experience was quite different from most as I was awarded a scholarship to attend the United World College in Norway. Aside from the challenging curricula of the International Baccalaureate everyday life was a cultural and international experience. The school consists of only 200 students but on average these come from more than 70 countries. I gained a deep understanding of different cultures and traditions as well as being exposed to wide variety of opinions. I built a world network of close friends and was actively involved in many parts of school life including operating the student and organizing monthly one day events on global concerns.

Ba (Hons)

Queen Margaret University

A very interesting program of study covering various areas within the hospitality and service sectors as well as general business skills in marketing, finance and human resources. The subjects taught me many valuable things but even more the overall experience gave my valuable lessons for life. I was actively involved in the running of the University and among other things served as Chairman of the Student Staff Consultative Committee for three years and was member of Faculty Academic Board, Student Parliament and various workgroups. I got to know many of my lectures very well and became well versed in academic politics and internal organizational matters.

Computer Skills
As an early adopter of the Internet (1995) in my youth I am well versed in the operation and installation of various computer systems and programs most things come as a second nature to me. Even if I am not a programmer I well understand the process involved. On basic programs such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint as see myself as advanced user.    I have had the fortune to be involved in early use of computer systems at work, and usually know the system better than the trained managers after a few weeks. I generally learn new programs and systems very rapidly.
Event Organization
In whatever I do, I always tend to organize various events. Experience includes involvement in International Student Enterprise Summit in Dundee 2007 and many smaller events over the years. I work well under pressure and are good at combining the essential skills of planning and improvisation that are  vital to successful events.

With a wide variety of experience and four year university degree I am looking forward to taking the next step in life with getting a full time job in an interesting company.

After completing my university studies last year I am looking for a new challenge. I tend not to limit myself and are open to many possibilities. The service industry is closest to my heart and it is where I feel that I can really perform strongly.

I am happy to take on an opportunity that might be well below my educational level as long as there is an opportunity for development and promotion in the long term.

I have varied interest in many fields including; traveling and culture, wine, computers, running and swimming, books, finance as well as exploring nature.
