Job Description

Public relations specialists perform a variety of functions depending on where and for whom they work.

Above all, they create and promote a positive image for their employers. They also keep the public informed of their employers' current goals and policies. All public relations specialists must be sensitive to the needs, attitudes, and opinions of their audience.Public relations specialists may arrange and direct speaking engagements, press conferences, meetings and conventions, films or videos, and fundraising campaigns.

Summary

I am currently a senior at Longwood University studying Communications with a concentration in Organizational Communications and Public Relations. My classes at Longwood University offered me the opportunity to perfect my skills in many areas of public relations that include writing press releases, crisis plans, communication audits, networking, and generating publicity.I have had hands on experience with how to creatively generate publicity for a company, and have been trained on how to handle crisis situations in a company. After graduating I hope to peruse a job in Public Relations that allows me to utilize my skills and also grow in the field.
